"I am a self taught artist based on the Isles of Scilly. I have been painting full time for nearly twenty years, working on location and from my studio and Gallery on St Mary's. I live on Scilly all year round and paint nearly every day.

Generally, I look for simplicity in a scene, rendering enough information to give the viewer the sense of being there. To help me capture this feeling, I believe it is essential to paint on the spot in front of the subject and only work in the studio once I have an intimate knowledge of the subject. Rather than have a predetermined method or procedure, I like to be spontaneous and let the landscape influence how I paint. I think it's more interactive and I feel more connected with the subject: it helps keep my paintings fresh.

Over the years I have exhibited throughout Cornwall and various arts societies. Most recently at the Mall Galleries with the Society of Wildlife Artists and the Royal Society of Marine Artists."
