Julie Evans is a landscape artist and designer based in Cornwall. Her inspiration is the coast, the moorland and the many beautiful gardens of the County where her family have lived for generations.

She paints in water soluble oils, often in plein air. Her works are known for their highly textural impasto technique and many of her paintings have been digitally reproduced as designs for limited edition textile products sold in both the UK and abroad.

"I have always been fascinated by the schizophrenic character of the rugged peninsula I call home. In summer, bathed in bright refracted light it sparkles under cerulean skies but in winter when the storms gather and the granite cliffs are pummelled by the churning Atlantic, a darker rugged beauty emerges. My work celebrates the collision of the picture perfect with the dramatic."
