Clara Holmes is a Falmouth based artist working predominantly with figurative and still life compositions. Since leaving education, she has recently dedicated a year to exploring and understanding the medium of oils and the variations of tone and colour, developing a strong passion for the use of space and composition within her works.
Clara is furthering her studies at Falmouth University, and is midway through a BA Graphic Design course. Whilst undertaking her studies, Clara continues to grow her appreciation for oil painting and often translates this within her design projects.
Clara takes inspiration from real life studies, translating onto larger canvas’, allowing her to push the boundaries of scale and colour. Her still life works take influence from Matisse’s balance and the colour play of Rose Hilton.
