Ann Owen

Ann graduated with a first class BA honours degree in animation from the Surrey Institute of Art and Design in 1999; and after working as a stop-frame animator in Manchester, returned to the college to lecture in animation practice and theory.  In 2007, she moved to Cornwall and is now working as fine art painter.

Her animation background has been a strong influence and can be seen in the illustrational style of her paintings.  She attempts to capture the mythical associations of the subjects and has become known for her paintings of white hares, which hold a particular place in West Country folklore.
